The Monstrous series by Lily Mayne is probably my favorite mm series to date. Lily is an amazing author and she really knows how to yank at your heart strings and make you fall for her characters even if you don’t think you will. I have been eagerly anticipating this audiobook, and when I found out it was Michael Leslie doing the voice acting I was ecstatic! It’s set up in a post apocalyptic world of sorts, where 20 years earlier some openings to the “monster world” appeared and all kind of more or less threatening beings invaded Earth. Humans live mostly in some crowded cities, and the military is hunting monsters, primarily because they want to use all those powerful beings to further their own agenda. Seraph, 60%, Lilac POV) His body was like a work of art. So unique, unlike anything I’d ever seen before. I loved every part of it. I wanted him more than I’d ever wanted anyone.

He was apparently one of several monsters that made up the Hunt, with Northern America his turf. He’d been shot at, stabbed, disembowelled, set on fire, blown up by several land mines, doused in acid… Whatever method of killing someone you can imagine, it’d been attempted to take out Wyn. None of them had worked. GHOST AND AURY TAKE A TRIP was such a delightful read because I love these two so much! I adored how playful Aury was in this one as he surprises Ghost with a little cabin just for them to get away from the camp and spend time alone. This was sexy and sweet and a great moment between these two. Danny sees Wyn kill all the soldiers, but doesn't move to do anything himself. While he's terrified of Wyn, there's also something intriguing about him, and Danny doesn't want to kill anyway. In the end, of the first unit, Danny is the only one left alive.

Moth and Charlie... oh god, they are so sweet and damn hot together. The way Moth is so eager to experiment and discover everything, and of course his eagerness to bond with Mr Eater TOP STUFF right here. I'm thinking that this may be my first foray into this particular genre. I actually have no preconceived notions of ANY genre before jumping in - basically, I just like to read good stories. Unfortunately, I had a hard time with this one - and honestly, not because of anything you might think. How can you love a monster? Particularly one that has killed thousands of people in the most horrible way?

I fell in love with Danny and Wyn writing this. Particularly Danny – I have a soft spot for him. A young, hopeful guy who stays optimistic despite having a pretty tough life, who hasn’t yet found himself and has his own insecurities. But he’s still brave (despite what he thinks) and he’s not afraid to go after what he wants. But nothing happens right away, and Ruke waits for Jamie to say something before they become physical.also, Ara and Hag??? i want them to have a whole book too. i just want all the books... please just let this series have 20 books…🥺… please?? But then circumstance forced me together with a big, annoying purple monster who’s arrogant and bossy and pushes all my buttons in the worst—and best—ways. I need his help, and I hate needing anyone’s help. But the more time I spend with him, the more I realise that maybe there’s more from him that I need. And that he might need things from me too. this was perfect. i loved it!! i had missed these characters so much. it was so great to finally catch up with Wyn and Danny again.🥺🥰

THE ADVENTURES OF DANNY AND WYN - PART 1 was a sexy little short of Danny and Wyn exploring an abandoned haunted house and getting up to some mischief. I loved seeing these two together and happy and just living their best lives in the Wastes. He can’t get to you. He can’t get to you. I had to chant it to myself in my head. I had to trust the reinforced glass, which was the only thing separating us. I burst out laughing, happiness filling every inch of me, every cell, until it felt like I would burst. I shoved at his chest. “Because no one can know Wyn the Soul Eater has a heart?” He leaned in and nuzzled my face, his cool lips brushing my mouth. “Exactly,” he murmured," Amazing secondary characters, even the evil ones and especially the monsters. How cute is Edin, seriously? Wyn isn't human, but he is humanoid, and Danny finds himself very attracted to him, even without getting to see his face, as Wyn keeps a hood on around Danny at all times.There’s not much for a young boy to do, so Danny’s a soldier, sent out on his first mission to serve as cannon fodder to catch the attention of a creature known only as the Soul Eater. The soldiers with Danny are killed, but a strange thing happens – the Soul Eater is captured, and he let Danny live.
