About this deal

Please note, this Smart TV features third party Apps. These Apps may be modified or withdrawn at any time. There may also be a delay in launching some of the featured Apps. Catch-up TV Apps may vary by region. The function and availability of apps is not covered by the manufacturer’s or Richer Sounds’ guarantee. Given Dolby Vision’s continued absence (I imagine Samsung doesn’t like its idea of picture quality dictated to them), you could view that as a win for LG since it can hit similar levels with less brightness. But not everything is in Dolby Vision, and the Samsung’ s high brightness means even standard HDR10 content is rendered in terrifically bright fashion. Sound quality

Max light output HDR (high dynamic range) while displaying small white square taking up 60% of the screen (measured in Nits) However, OTS+ doesn’t just involve more channels, it also analyses the audio signaland aligns sounds with the location of specific images on the screen. This really works, producing an engaging experience with improved directionality and immersion. In addition, the dedicated centre speakers ensure clear dialogue, and the subs add some pleasing low-end presence. Once you’ve turned on those settings, the TV screen will be optimized for low latency while using a gaming console. Moreover, the color, sharpness, and contrast will be enhanced to optimize fast-moving objects. But speaking of motion processing, it’s worth talking about the new Motion Xcelerator Turbo+ technology that’s used by the Neo Quantum Processor 4K. It’s slightly more judicious in the way it uses judder reduction, but stutter is still an issue because of the way the TV’s native 120Hz refresh rate. Basically, the TV can overprocess some images, giving films a soap opera effect or, worse, making some scenes that have a bit of a natural shaky cam effect look like something from the Blair Witch Project or Cloverfield – it’s non-stop shaking that can really be a turn off. The most widely used panels are those with 6, 8, and 10 bits for each of the RGB components of the pixel. They provide 18-, 24-, and 30-bit color, respectively. The entry-level Neo QLED model (i.e. the most affordable Mini LED model) in Samsung's 2021 range is the QN85A, which thankfully appears to be the same wherever you buy it. The issue with the 2020 models, where brightness of small objects was reduced, isn’t observed here; so the scene where Chris falls into the Sunken Place maintains the same, consistent brightness throughout. Samsung’s dimming algorithms aren’t quite as sophisticated with subtitles, with some words bright and others less so. The Super UltraWide Game View stretches the image to either 21:9 and 32:9 screen ratios and is only possible when a PC/laptop is connected. And you’d also need to be sitting fairly close to the screen for the required effect.

Perfect the minimalist look with a super slim and ultra-stylish TV. From the middle of the sofa to the armchair in the corner, your Neo QLED TV has been delicately crafted to look beautiful from any angle. While MicroLED remains the preserve of the super-rich for now, Samsung is bringing Mini LED tech to its premium QLEDs, which it refers to as 'Neo QLEDs'.Regardless, the QN94A has the same depth as the QN95A model that comes with the external One Connect box. In the past, the One Connect box indicated the TV was slimmer than its similarly attired cousins. While that’s not the case here, the One Connect box does bring meaningful differences that I’ll get to later on. One of our visitors recently had this issue. The display of his Samsung TU8000 Crystal UHD TV had a bluish hue or tint regardless of channel or app. He tried adjusting the picture settings but it didn’t help. If you are having this problem as well, try the following tip. Information about the maximum vertical viewing angle, within which the image on the screen is of acceptable quality. This is where the difference between the QN94A and QN95A is most evident. The slimline One Connect external box supports HDMI 2.1 (ALLM, VRR, HFR) across all its HDMI inputs, so you can plug a Xbox Series X and a PS5 into any of the QN95A’s HDMI inputs. As Samsung continues to give Dolby Vision the widest of berths, Dolby Vision for Gaming isn’t coming to their TVs any time soon.

With a marketplace flooded with options, some smart - others not so much, it can seem like a buyer's minefield. And what is a smart TV anyway? Thankfully, there's a handy buyer's guide, FAQs and some jargon explained at the end of the article to help.

Of no surprise at all is that Samsung is introducing a new processor for its 2021 TVs. This 'Neo Quantum Processor' brings with it, among other things, more precise dimming and a local power distribution feature that sends power to the brightest areas of the picture and away from the darker parts. It also works in conjunction with a sensor integrated into the TV's frame to adjust brightness and contrast in response to ambient lighting conditions. The good news is that you can actually go in and tweak the judder and stutter individually through Samsung’s picture settings and we highly recommend doing so. With Q-Symphony, this TV synchronises perfectly with select Samsung sound bars (available separately) for a supreme audio visual experience.

White Balance: Using this picture setting, you can fine-tune the appearance of the white color on your TV. If you think that white things on your TV screen have a red, green, or blue tint, you can adjust the Red Offset and Gain, the Green Offset and Gain, and Blue Offset and Gain. Depending on your TV model, you may have 2-point, 10-point, or 20-point white balance settings. By adjusting these settings you can make whites appear brighter. As mentioned above, the new Motion Xcelerator Turbo tech is designed to deliver a 4K@120Hz-like experience despite the set's native refresh rate being 60Hz. It also gets OTS Lite, which adds two virtual speakers that add height to the sound produced by the two physical speakers along the bottom. RGB Only Mode: Adjust the red, green, and blue color channels to define your preferred level of saturation and tint.US readers will be happy to learn that Samsung's flagship QLED of 2022 is available more widely. Read our Samsung QN95B review to find out more about it. I’m less convinced about its ‘Picture Clarity’ motion processing. Samsung doesn’t offer a wealth of options: simply Auto, Custom and Off. Auto is the least distinguished since it induces judder and a slight shimmer and frayed edges, which can distract with sports. This is the top 4K Samsung TV for 2021. We understand that it's identical to the UK-exclusive QN94A, which means it's the same as the QN95A but without the One Connect box. That said, the capability to produce brighter, more color-saturated images is one thing – but knowing when and where to employ that technology is a whole different matter. That’s where the Neo Quantum Processor 4K takes over. Using 16 neural networks, the Neo Quantum Processor 4K analyzes images on a frame-by-frame basis, upscaling the image if it’s coming from a sub-4K resolution using an image database and boosting contrast and color saturation.
